Case study: Community Food and Health (Scotland)’s website
The Community food and health (Scotland) was developed in conjunction with The Graphics Company. The aim was to develop a website which would be easy to use and give fast access to the Community Food and Health PDF library, database of Community Food Initiatives and Events.
All design work was carried out by the Graphics Company. All of the back-end development and coding of the template and content was done by Jim Byrne & Associates. QnECMS, the accessible content management system was used as the technical platform for the development.
The website search, events manager, publications library and searchable database of community Initiative were developed as plugins for QnECMS – the accessible CMS.
The community food initiative is searchable by region, activities and group.there is also a free-text search option.
Addional PDFs can be added to the publications library by project staff.
The Events Manager is managed by staff. Adding new events or delete old events is done using a simple web form.
The CMS built-in Blogging system was used to provide a news page.
