In December 2010 BSI launched the first British Standard to address web accessibility and the challenge of digital inclusion.
Published by the British Standards Institute and designed to help organisations ensure their websites are accessible to disabled and older people. The guidance is designed to help organisations meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010. The Equality Act 2010 clearly states that web products must be accessible to all.
The publications is referenced in UK government e-Accessibility Plan; for developing accessible online service.
